The City of San Jose Building Division has expanded its Internet services at www.sjpermits.org to include Inspection Scheduling. You can request new inspections, modify your existing request or cancel inspection requests on-line. The site allows you to access all your projects in one centralized list. The inspection history for your projects can also be viewed.

Internet Inspection Request Services are available
24 hours a day - 7 days a week!

In order to use this service, customers must register on-line at www.sjpermits.org Registration allows you to use all the services available at the site. Once registered, you will be able to log on with your Logon ID and Password to request inspection services on any permit that has a status of “Under Inspection” or “Approved.”

The registration process requires you to identify yourself as either a property owner or a business representative. Business representatives must have a valid Business License Tax Number with the City of San Jose. You can check to see if you have a valid business license number at www.csjfinance.org/bizlic/bizlic.htm or contact the Finance Department at (408) 277-5051.

If you are already registered to issue permits on-line (or if you are a business owner with a City Business License Tax Account) you can start scheduling your inspections on-line today!

If your company has a valid business license tax number and you want multiple people to be registered with this company name you should complete the “Registered User Verification Form”. The Building staff will add these individuals to your account. This will expedite inspection scheduling for your staff and assist the City staff identify the person requesting the inspection service. No changes will be made you your Business License Tax record.

Registered User Verification Form

The City of San Jose’s Online Permit System allows registered users to issue permits, request inspections, and check the status of permits & plan checks. Registration by businesses (contractors, engineering firms, developers, etc.) requires a valid City of San José Business License Tax account number.

The Building Division is requesting that companies complete this form if they have multiple representatives who will be requesting inspections or issuing permits. A staff person will call and verify that these individuals are authorized to request inspection services on behalf of your firm. Please mail or fax the completed form as indicated below.
